The part of this week's lesson that really stayed on my mind was Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. I realized that the pyramid represents a person's completeness as a whole, and if one part goes missing, the wholeness of a person won't be shown. As humans, we crave for attention; from simple greetings, conversations and socializing, to wanting to receive affection to be able to keep our self -esteem and not doubt ourselves. At the end of the lesson, I realized that I should be thankful for all the things and people I have now. For the security the people around me are trying to give; for providing me enough food, clothes, and shelter that not most people all have, for securing my education for me, and for trying to keep me safe away from things that might hurt me. I thank my friends, family, and those who come and go in this life for teaching me that affection can not only be obtained by seeking it from other people, accepting and knowing who you are as a person should be the first thing that you should do if you want others to accept who you are and what you are.

Tomorrow offers something as everyday tries to give something to surprise us. In the future, I want to be someone who is happily fulfilled. I believe that a person's development has infinite possibilities, no one other than yourself can know and see them. And at the end of the day, you are the only one who can know who you really are. Maturity and improvement is not something that can be achieved overnight nor can be attained by just sitting by and daydreaming. Here are two things I want to improve slowly throughout this year. I hope that by the end of this year, I'll be able to change or improve my self to a better person.

1. Be thrifty.

- Being thrifty is actually not easy, at least not for all people. There are so many things that try to take our eyes and minds to spend the money that we have. But at the end of the day, as students, the money that we hold did not come from us. The luxuries that the heart desires should only come next to the list of the things that we should prioritize specially our education and basic needs. It is just hypocrisy to say that I don't buy the things that I see fit as something I want, but I want to spend less on things that will only serve as entertainment.

2. Be more matured.

- For me being matured is not just aging physically or through numbers. I believe that a mature person means that she is a person who can do things on her own. From simple things like not being clumsy, acting your age, prioritizing the important things in life, or is able to stand on her own. Standing on your own does not mean that you live independently and separately from family. It just means like you don't need to ask the people around you of simple requests such as doing chores for you. Being mature means owning the responsibilities giving to you, correcting your own mistakes, and trying to look at bigger pictures rather than staying still at something.

People may see them as something not worthy of attention. But I believe that these two things are the traits that I lack and need emphasis on my life. Achieving them means that I could go on next to the things that could help me improve as a better person. I'd like to start off on the things that may seem of little importance but is actually a huge part of who I can be.
